The wedding was a major event in the life of the past and the souvenirs of this great day were kept by the families: the dishes with the initials of the couple, the invitations or the menus of course, but also the wedding medals, that we no longer always identify today, the fragile globes of brides, wedding rings, or wedding photos, which were sometimes, before 1914, the only ones that the spouses would have made in their entire lives.

For the family historian, these objects tell life stories. They sometimes deliver genealogical information that he lacked, the date of marriage or the presence of a parent, for example. But he must still understand and correctly interpret these old memories, because the festivities of yesteryear are no longer ours, nor are the objects offered.

And if these testimonies of the past are missing, in particular the photos, including for generations not so distant (end of the 19th century or beginning of the 20th century), how to find them?

This pretty and really practical guide provides the answers.
